From the Fullness of His Grace we Have all Received one Blessing After Another ~ John 1:16

That was the verse inscribed on our wedding invitation almost 2 ½ years ago, and it is still true. Wedding season has begun! I know because I have 2 save the dates, 2 shower invitations and one wedding invitation currently hanging on my refrigerator. And the majority of my friends are married! That means this is a SLOW season for me! I absolutely love weddings. I love the excitement of it, getting a really good indication of the couple’s personality through their event details, the look on the bride’s face as she walks down the aisle, and the joy of celebrating with a couple vowing to love one another in good times and bad until death parts them.

There is something really special about a wedding and it’s not the gown or the cakes (although those are 2 pretty good things!), it’s the opportunity that we have to say thank you to the One who brings us together to love one another, stand by one another, support one another and encourage one another. We had 2 goals for our wedding day….to be married and to give all the glory to God. I know we accomplished the first, and pray that we continue doing the second all the days of our lives.

This week over at Today’s Housewife they are celebrating “wedding season” and kicking it off with a look back at their own weddings. I decided to participate! For those that don’t care to relive it, you can stop reading, but know that you were a huge part of the most wonderful day of my life! To my family, I hope you know how thankful I am that you worked so hard to give us such a special day. Your love for David and I truly shined through and we could never thank you enough. Ever.

*Update: Welcome those from Kelly's Korner! I added several comments about the dresses!
*warning…picture overload! I’ll tell the story of the day through pictures….and a few words!

The are the 3 most important women in my life. My best friends! Nana, mom and sals! Mom and Kristen worked SO hard to make this day perfect for me. Isn't my mom's dress gorgeous?? In the group picture near the end of this post you can see her on the front row with the beautiful blue dress. My nana and my sister looked gorgeous too, as always!

This is my guest book which I love! It is a leather bound book with engagement photos on each page and our guests wrote messages to us. Our programs are below.

Cutest.Flowergirl.EVER. She loved that our dresses looked alike. She said, "Your dress looks like MINE!" :)

I gave David a Bible on our wedding day and I wrote him a message telling him how excited I was to be his wife and how grateful I was (and am) that God chose us for each other.

My sister, maid of honor, best friend making the delivery :)

I just love this picture! I love the back of the BM dresses and they all looked so gorgeous! This was when they were looking over the banister watching the guests arrive!

My family praying over me, David, and our marriage before the ceremony! I am so blessed to have grown up in a house of faith where my mom and dad love the Lord.

Heading down to see my man!

My handsome groom waiting for me!

This might have been my favorite thing about the whole wedding...my sister was my MOH and his dad was his BM...his sister and my brother were also GM and BM....follow me? So, my brother escorted my sister down the aisle and stood on my side and Dave's dad escorted his sister down the aisle and they stood on his side. It was very special and I am so honored that all 4 of them stood up for us.

Signed, sealed, delivered!! I'm yours buddy!

Mr. and Mrs!
On our way to the reception we made a little detour for a kiss at the Capitol!
Dancing with my daddy!

A little "Beat It" never hurt anybody

The whole gang! (This is the shot of my mom's dress...)
One last hug from mom...

Oh I do love him!! 1.6.07

Your dress is beautiful, and so was everything else - the church, the bridesmaid dresses, your mom's dress!

In fact, my mom wore the same dress when I got married the week before you!

Also - small world, my husband used to attend Hyde Park and played in their worship band. And I am very jealous of your Capitol picture!
