Blessing Branches...

"Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."
These branches sit in my garage year-round waiting for the first Christmas card to come in the mail. This year, we decided to bring it out a few weeks early.

I made these little cards and the point is for Dave and I are to write something we are thankful for each day. We're hanging it up so we can be reminded of our blessings during this time of Thanksgiving. We've had to face a few things this year that have been hard and there have been ups and downs, but through it all, God has been faithful. He has been faithful in giving us strength, hope and peace, He has been faithful through family and friends who encourage us and pray for us...the list truly goes on and on.

You can imagine Dave's enthusiasm when I first mentioned that he actually had to articulate his emotions and feelings. But I stood firm and the result has been wonderful. We are blessed. And when you sit down and actually begin to count your blessings it makes it much more difficult to focus on the negative. God is good...all the time. Happy Thanksgiving!

What a neat and creative idea! I love the idea of taking time each day to think of something you are truly thankful for and then writing it down. Plus to have it on display? What a pick-me-up when you are having a bad day!

Happy Weekend Lady!

what a great idea! this would be such a fabulous "Thanksgiving" decoration! and then it would be so great to create a book each year with those things in which you are thankful! maybe I'll start this tradition next year!

What a great idea to actually write out your blessings! I'm sure you'll find that in spite of the storms your cup is not only full, but running over~

What a fabulous idea! I believe that thankfulness, like faith, is like a muscle that needs to be worked in order to get stronger. I'm going to do this, thank you for the idea!
