It's not the first and I guarantee it won't be the last...

I've never really told y'all the story of how I succumbed to the Twilight madness. I swore for years (maybe 2? I actually have no idea when the books first came out) that I would NEVER read them. Why in the WORLD would I want to read a "vampire love story"?? No thank you! I am not a sci-fi girl. I don't do Star Wars, I've never seen Lord of the Rings, and I haven't read the Harry Potter books. I know, I know. I'm a complete disappointment to pop culture.

I stood firm. I listened to my friends talk about Edward. Dear, sweet, gorgeous, perfect, loving Edward. I made fun of them and mocked them. I told them how silly they were for thinking that Bella and Edward were the epitome of story book love when clearly Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy have that monopoly. I thought the Loj was going to disown me as a friend and we would have not.one.thing. to talk about going forward. Good thing she converted me.

That's right. Decade of Friendship....everyone shows up with their books for the beaches of Mexico and all 4 Twilight books are floating around and it was as though my friends were floating on clouds. Edward this and Bella that...next thing you know it was like I was 18 years old and someone had a fruit passion wine cooler. Peer pressure took over my body and I was 10 pages into Twilight. 5 hours and 600 pages later I was Team Edward. And don't you worry that books 3 and 4 were my favorites, so you can imagine how hyped I am about this....

You're Welcome! :)

hahaha I fought it for the longest time too! Then I fell in love with it. I'm excited for this but at the same time it's taken so long for everything to come together that I'm almost over the Twilight thing.

but I can't wait to see it! I want to know how they are going to do Breaking Dawn!

I loved the Twilight books but I really disliked the first movie. However, that preview looked pretty good! I might have to rent the second movie...

Too funny about your resistance to read the books! Glad you finally caved. I actually read them before the real Twilight phenomenon caught on. Jen Lancaster, who I love, recommended Twilight on her blog, so I read it. I was hooked! Then the craziness started and I had to laugh that I was reading the same books as my high school aged cousins!

I read the books when they first came out and felt like a huge dork. Then everyone started to get on the wagon and I felt normal again :) Glad you joined the hype.

I think I've watched that clip about 6 or so times now and I still get goose bumps! Welcome to the dark side! I was a hold out on these books and I also refused to read them - it wasn't until my sister kept pushing this past Thanksgiving that I broke down and read Twilight. I think I read the entire series in a matter of a few weeks!

Oh girl! I fought the Twilight craze too! I folded to peer pressure last year around this time! I will have to say I am looking forward to the new movie but so far I think the books are way better than the movies! 3 and 4 were my faves too!

I could have WRITTEN your post... literally, I read all 4 books in a matter of weeks. I would wake up at night and turn my flashlight on so Jordan wouldn't know what I was doing. It kind of back-fired though, because he would wake up, and then be even MORE worried about me because I was reading a book, with a flashlight, in the middle of the night, about vampires. Enough said. :):):):)

I too stood strong against the Twilight series for so many months. Then I caved, and I am so glad I did! :)

I finally caved in too after hearing one too many Jacob v. Edward debates at Bunko. Now I'm team Edward for life!

Team Edward 4 Life. I was exactly like you! Dont read Harry Potter or watch Lord of the Rings... I don't do "fantasy sci fi" or whatever genre it is. But I got the peer pressure and am so glad I did - 2 weeks of my life were spent reading the 4 books ... and it was a fabulous time :)

I was the same way with Harry Potter--I swore I'd never read them, but I received the first book as a gift back when I was in 6th grade and I've been obsessed ever since. Btw I love your blog design!
