Playing Catch Up...

It's August, y'all. I know that because everyone on my facebook and instagram feed are posting photos of their dashboard reading 112 degree temperatures, teachers are posting photos of their fresh classrooms ready for a new year and complaining about in-service days, and Kindergarten moms are reliving the last 5 years of their lives and getting sappy about sending off their little ones.

And let's not kid about that last one. I've only been a mom for 4 months and I know that in 5 short years I will simultaneously be crying in my cheerios at the thought of my kids leaving the nest and doing a little happy dance for a few hours of freedom. The time does seem to pass rather quickly.

It's been a busy 5 weeks. I went back to work and that has thrown everyone for a loop. We rallied the troops to keep P&C for my first few months back at work while they are still so little. Those troops consist of my mom and dad, my mother in law, and the occasional helper we can add into the mix. It takes a village!

We've gone to the "divide and conquer" method as two infants is just a lot of hard work for my mom and MIL. Let me rephrase...it's hard work for anyone!! But they are helping me out BIG TIME, so I don't want to run them ragged. My mom and MIL each keep a baby and it has worked out really well. If you follow my mom on Instagram (@10szsazsa) she chronicles her journeys with the hashtag #oldaupairs. :)

My time back at work has been hectic. So little time with my little people, so much time at work, in the car to/from work, and packing bags and preparing to go back to work. I have very little time with P&C, even less time with Dave, and after paying for childcare for two I was hardly contributing to our bottom line. In the end, Dave and I decided that what is best for our family is for me to be home with P&C. So I am happy to say that I will soon be home full time with my little loves. I'm really excited and really thankful.

Someone else who is excited and thankful is this guy! His Uncle Taylor plays baseball and is in Richmond, VA for the season. He hasn't met P&C yet but come September he'll be teaching them bad habits and trying to make Parker a lefty. In the meantime, he sent his little buddy a baseball for his nursery. Parker was pretty pumped! :)

Caroline got a little girl time with mom and Nana on one of her days as a singleton. They went shopping and enjoyed being ladies who lunch. :)

Cheesecake Factory was chosen as our after church lunch spot this past weekend and it was a winner. I may have gotten a piece of red velvet cheesecake to go. I've been eating on it for 2 days and I still have over half of a piece left. #winning!

I have had many amazing moments since being a mother. It's insane how much I love these tiny munchkins. But this was a moment I just didn't want to end. I would have sat in the same spot the entire night and never moved. Sent.straight.from.Heaven.

Speaking of gifts from Heaven...this little lovey fell asleep in the car and I wanted to drive around forever because he was so peaceful Those cheeks. That hand holding onto his lovey...I could just eat him up.

Let them sleep, for when they wake, they will move mountains...

Bless your heart! I remember those days when Jack was still so little, getting everything ready for the next day, and rushing off to work the next morning. And that was only 1 kid!

It's a huge blessing to be able to stay home with them, but it has taken me some time to get used to it after being in the corporate world for so long. So many different emotions.

They are just adorable!
