Operation Bridesmaid Dress...

Well, here we are. It's that time of year again when my pants don't fit and wedding season looms. And this isn't just any wedding season. This is the Super Bowl of wedding seasons. My sister is getting married in May and my brother is getting married in October. Nobody wants to see this pale MOH in all of her overweight glory!

So, here we go. March 12th. Cutting calories and taking names! I am not good with "diets". I can't do Atkins, I can't do Slim Fast or live on meal bars....that's a personal preference. I just feel so deprived and then end up binging and gaining more than I lose. I just have to eat smart, make wise choices (like corn tortillas instead of flour, and 1 piece of pizza instead of 2 (or 3), and 1 scoop of ice cream once a week instead of 2 scoops 4 times a week...) and not feel like I'm starving myself or completely depriving myself.

Last year, I started running and I cut out about 300 calories a day and in a little less than 4 months I lost 20 lbs. I've gained back almost all of that. Some of it I contribute to hormones and emotions. Mostly, I contribute it to lack of self control and overindulgence.

Let's call a spade a spade.

So here we go kids. Operation Bridesmaid Dress has commenced. I have 9 weeks...and the promise of wedding cake at the end. Let's do it.

You can definitely do it!!! I've been on a journey the last couple months to really kick my stronghold that I allow food to have in my life. Candace Cameron Bure's book called "Reshaping It All" was awesome! It may help with the motivation and encouragement. :) Cake at the wedding is also a definitely motivator!!! :)

Good for you girl! I need to start making some of those small better decisions and maybe, just maybe, I'll feel comfortable getting into a swimsuit this summer!

I am right there with ya! I am in 4 weddings this spring, including my sisters. Eek! I find that if I wear my sports bra to bed, I will get up and go run. Sounds crazy, but I feel so defeated if I sleep through my alarm and change out of it in the morning. Also, I am a firm believer in Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. It is 20 minutes and kicks my butt...every.time.

Good luck! You can do this. You can do this!

Just found your blog! You can do it! I actually have been going through the SAME thing. I am in a wedding this Saturday and went into panic mode when my bridesmaid dress was too tight a couple months back. I found for me that cutting out carbs/sugars has given me the best results - but I also had less time than you! So, your method will be much more enjoyable! It has been really hard - but so worth it - good luck - I'm a new follower and will keep reading about your progress!!

You can totally do it! I have been working hard to actually lose weight and just watching what I am eating has helped so much. Seriously, if you need any encouragement i'm here for you! ( I know it's crazy but I feel like I totally know you after reading your blog for so long! :) )

One of the great things about actually putting your goal out there for the world to see, it makes you more motivated and accountable. Also, the good news is if you've done it before, you can definitely do it again! Can't wait to see your progress!!

Good luck! I know you can lose it, especially with such great weddings on the horizon. Your final paragraph made me laugh out loud because I totally run so that I can eat cake ... especially wedding cake! Whatever motivates us, right? Please keep us posted on your progress!

I'll be following your journey- I too have realized I can't have ice cream every night. RUDE. Isn't that what we're supposed to be able to do as adults? :(

My sister is getting married in 8 weeks and I swear there is more for me to do and I feel more pressure to look great as her MOH than when I got married myself. I am trying hard to stay on the fitness wagon as well until then. We got this!

Good luck! You have a good goal to shoot for (the wedding) and sometimes that helps. I've been working out more, but I just have no self control. There are just too many good restaurants!
