The Great (Groupon) Escape...

Do y'all use Groupon? We're cheap, so we bark up that tree. We use it for restaurants, photography classes, spa packages, weekend getaways, Dave uses it for golf and of course, the infamous carpet cleaning scandal of 2011. Let it be known that that is the only time Groupon has failed me and they immediately refunded my money and were so nice and helpful.

Months ago I bought a Groupon for a sunset cruise for 2 on Town Lake for $5. This is something I have never done in my own city and always see people out doing. Likewise, a couple of months ago, Dave bought a Groupon for a nice restaurant here in town. Last summer, while attending a conference, I won a 2 night stay at a local hotel. It was funny that they were giving away hotel stays all across the state and I won the one in my own city, so we have never put it to use.

That brings us to a few weeks ago...Dave mentioned that it would be fun to do a little "staycation" and we could use our hotel stay and go enjoy a nice dinner out with our Groupon. I told him about the sunset cruise I had bought and that we could do that too...

And then, the great "Groupon Staycation" was born. I laughingly said that we should only do things that we have a Groupon for. Since then, it has become a little game and we have bought several restaurant groupons and a few for fun "experiences" to help complete our weekend. We pretty much have our entire weekend planned and it makes me laugh everytime I think about it!

Are we crazy or do y'all take full advantage of Groupon's too??
